It is important to remember: fish = food.

Eat. Enjoy what you eat. Know where your food came from and how it got to your plate.

  1. Hello Amy,

My name is Cinthia Sandoval. I am on the Slow Food Orlando Convivium board. Did you happen to speak to a Gabby Othon while at the National Slow Food Conference? She couldn’t find your information so I had to track “a fisherwoman who works with Slow Food in Washington” and I am hoping it is you. Let me know because I am making my way up to Seattle in a month and have some general fishing industry questions. Thanks

    • Hi Cinthia,

Yes, that was probably me at Slow Food Nation many moons ago. I apologize for not responding sooner but I have been fishing in Alaska for the summer. You have probably already come and gone from Seattle but is there anything I can assist you with?

      Best,
      Amy

    Amy,

I found you through Eco-Trust and the Community Fisheries Network. I am a Seattle based food blogger and also host bi-monthly benefit brunches to support organization working to promote local and sustainable food systems. I recognize that healthy oceans are vital to a healthy planet and feel strongly about promoting sustainable and ethical fishing practices. I am looking for a local non-profit working in the area of sustainable seafood to be the recipient of the donations from my upcoming brunch on October 11. I was hoping you might have some suggestions. You can reach me at : sasha.swerdloff@gmail.com

    Thank you, Sasha

    • Hello Sasha,

Goodness! This may be the latest reply you have ever had to an email! I am so sorry that this email slipped past me. Looking at the date it was sent it seems I was in Alaska without reliable or consistent internet access. In the future please feel free to contact me directly at my person email address: ajgrondin at gmail dot com. This Saturday I again leave for Alaska for a summer of fishing but please reach out to me if you have any commercial fishing or salmon questions in the future. Best regards, Amy Grondin

    • Hello Margaret,
Thank you so much for sharing the picture you shot of Duna at Tatoosh Island! Your pictures are lovely! We would love to see more of your images and welcome the JPGs. How do we connect with you? Are you a professional photographer? Cheers,
      Amy

  4. Hi Amy
I’d prefer not to post my email on this public site. I thought you could see my contact info for me to post here.
If you go to my flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/romamar76/
You should see a little envelope next to my name at the top of the page, That is a private flickr contact where you can send me your email to contact you directly and send jpeg attachments. Is this complicated enough! 🙂
I’m not pro, just a picky amateur.
    Margaret
